Growing Healthy Hair

My twist-out lasted 4 days before I had to retwist. I've tried a number of products on it in this week. I think the best combo when twisting has been, John Frieda's Frizz Ease - Finishing creme and Jojoba oil or Neutrogena shine serum. My hair stayed smoothe and didn't dry out all week. Also it didn't feel gummy like a gel or bees wax.


I'm loving this style, not as care free as the braids but I don't have to fuss over it like a roller set. I'm going to try and keep it going until the summer heat kicks in.

I kind of liked the black and white. Tried something new. I've done twist out on other people but never on myself, so the other night I tried it.


Actually didn't come out to bad for a first time. If I had known that it would come out as good as it did I would have taken more time to actually do it right .... but there's always next time.

I've been taking Greatest Vitamins for about a month now. I relaxed my hair and the thickness is wild. I'm not complaining, just trying to figure out how to handle it. I said I would take these for 2 months I think I'll stretch that out until March 2007, that's when I plan on doing a serious trimming back.

Taking these things are no easy task because they recommend 9 a day. YEP 9, but I only took 6 a day and got really good results.

Hmmmmm I really hate taking pills .... but if it will get me to my ultimate goal (waist) I'll grin or is that choke and bear it. I figure I can get there by the summer of 2008.

Forgot to mention my experiment with AMINO 1000 Tablets I got great results so far as hair growth goes but one of the side effects I found was started to retain a lot of water.

Saw a friend in October she looked so good - her hair was shiny and her nails had grown so long and really "white", she looked really healthy.

Anyway asked her what she had been doing and she told me about The Greatest Vitamin in the World. Hokey name I know, but I started taking these vitamins for about 3 weeks now and the first thing I have noticed is my nails have increased in strength and length.

I figure 2 full months should show what they really can do. I wish I had taken before and after pictures of my nails. You're talking about someone who works in the garden and could care less about painting nails. With no care they have grown beautifully.


I have my hair braided now so I don't know exactly how much it is affecting my hair growth but at the end of this month when I relax I'll post a picture and let you be the judge.

Well it's been a year of experiments. No really big set-backs. Still doing
weekly washes with Aphogee - Shampoo and Conditioner, my nightly massages with Polysorbate 80 and if nothing else the thickness is increasing tremendously.

I contribute that to my braid spray concoction. Better Braids Spray, Polysorbate 80, and Infusium 23 for permed/dyed hair. This mix has really helped me to maintain elasticity to my often dry hair.

No relaxer since June but will probably get it done in 2 weeks I'll post a new picture (hopefully not shaky)

The bottle says to use right before shampooing, but I mix it in with my braid spray. I make a mix of "better Braids", Infusium 23, and Polysorbate 80. I spray my hair twice a day with it and it keeps my scalp from drying and my hair moisturized while in braids. It has also to help thicken my hair. It also helps with the unbraiding - less breakage. If you actually start to read the back of a lot of products you will fing polysorbate 80.

Polysorbate 80 is a cleanser that is found in many commercial hair care products. Polysorbate 80 causes histamines to be released which is thought to be the mechanism in which it promotes healthy hair growth.

Oleic Acid protects against moisture loss.

Niacin Increases blood flow to the follicle which is crucial to "hair growth". Niacin is also known to reduce cholesterol that is collected in the scalp and can release the enzyme 5-alpha reductase which converts to DHT.
It's dilating effect on the vessels and capillaries increases circulation to the scalp which stimulates hair growth.
